Welcome to our website!

 Hello!

And welcome to our brand new website! The Lighthouse Project Sutton-on-Sea was set up in July 2019 by Lottie (that's me!) because we wanted to create more opportunities, support and spaces for children and young people in our town and the local area.

While my a-levels then my uni course, and Covid unfortunately put the project on a bit of a back burner, I'm so excited about properly getting going in 2021! The main two things we are working on at the minute is this shiny new website and our office/future meeting space at the new Tide Turners Building on the high street in Sutton-on-Sea!

Our plan for this website is to post updates and blog-style posts for the clubs and events we planned out originally back in 2019. The first of which will be going live tomorrow for Earth Day 2021! This will come under our 'Earth Club' plan, so all posts relating to that will be really easy to find under that title on our website! Also, if you take a look at the top of the website, you'll see a page that says "Events", if you click that then you'll be able to see a list of future national/international days and events that we will be posting about! We are also hoping to work with the primary school and some local businesses in the future for some of these events, so keep your eyes peeled for that!

Near the "Events" column at the top of the website, you will see a page called "Jobs", this page of our website is for advertising employment suitable for young people in Sutton-on-Sea and the local area! More info about that is on the page but it details how we plan to support young people in finding part-time work to go alongside their studies and personal commitments! 

We will be trying to keep our posts quite short and easy to read, but full of lots of exciting information and links to other websites, if you would like to find out more!
